Pilgrims Walk Through The Holy Door Of St. Peter's Basilica - Vatican

Pilgrims walk through the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica the day after it was opened by Pope Francis on the occasion of the Christmas Eve mass marking the start of the 2025 Jubilee of Hope at the Vatican on December 25, 2024. Over the next 12 months millions of pilgrims are expected to pass through the holy doors of the basilica during the Holy Year by tradition benefiting from a ‘plenary indulgence’, a type of forgiveness for their sins. The large and imposing bronze door is normally closed and is open only the years of the jubilees. Photo by Eric Vandeville/ABACAPRESS.COM
